Interference Festival is an international overview and contest of visual communication forms accompanied by a rich program - concerts, video projections, installations, meetings, workshops, Masterclass lectures and VJ Battle. The festival is an interdisciplinary, international project aimed at selecting leading creators of short visual forms, such as: visuals, music videos, teasers, creative advertising forms, jingles and video art, experiments on the border of art. It is new, unconventional form of the event in Poland, a proposition of the open-minded festival, based on the use of wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi, GSM, 3G / 4G, and new distribution channels available through the Internet network as e-TV, You Tube , Vimeo, Twitter, Facebook, Skype.
"Interference" literally means meddling, intervention, disturbance.
The restless spirit of the festival is meant to make a creative tumult in Gdańsk's cultural offer.
Inspired by international, spectacular visual arts festivals, Interference Festival aims to select the
leading artists of short visual forms. Ultimately, it's the first meeting of artists and producers of short
visual forms with such a broad range, being also an overview of the newest and most interesting trends
in one-reel films - starting with video clips, through commercials, jingles, video art, experimental forms
and Internet art. The festival is characterized by innovative open formula and uses the latest wireless
technologies [Wi-Fi, GSM 3G/4G] and also Internet distribution channels [e-TV, Youtube, Vimeo,
Facebook]. Competition and out-of-competition presentations are going to be enriched by workshops,
discussions and concerts.
